Mid-Week… Friday is So Close!

Wednesday morning finds me hanging out at my mom’s (she’s out having her nails done, giving me a few moments of free time to update here) chasing Maggie and the two dogs. Well, not at this very moment, perhaps, but the rest of the morning (aside from the trip to Starbuck’s) has been spent chasing Maggie and the dogs… mostly Maggie.

Now that I have a couple of minutes, while other people are blogging about world events and politics - I’m going to be different and take a moment of your time to allow you to read about something that is VERY important… television. ;o)

Whether or not it’s politically correct or “the thing to do” - every Tuesday from 9-11 (sometimes later) will find me glued to my television with my kids watching “Gilmore Girls” and now “Supernatural” followed by “The Daily Show” and Adam Carrolla’s new show on Comedy Central.

Kate watches Gilmore Girls and Ethan stays up to watch Supernatural.

Gilmore Girls - I loved the season premiere!

Supernatural - awesome! I loved the twist on a classic ghost story, I liked the characters and the plot. I have to admit I was a little skeptical that this was going down a “Buffy The Vampire Slayer” road… I guess I’ll just have to tune in and see. I just hope this isn’t the WB’s way of trying to recreate the glory days of “Buffy” or “Charmed.” They have the potential to go down a different road. So far… so good.

I did watch Reunion last week - I thought it STUNK… big time. I probably will not watch another episode. I’m just not that desperate.

Ugh. I’m all for the break from polatics and stuff but Gilmore girls? My wife loves the show and even the The Lumpys don’t have cable or even bunny ears we do have a tv for dvd watching purposes. So what does the Lumpys wife do? She buys compleate season sets of Gilmore Girls, Seventh Heaven, Little House on the Prairy, and anything Anne of Avonlea that she can find. After being subjected to non stop sugary wholesome goodness I have finally lost the ability to share her viewing time with her and now must seek sanctuary in my basement doing stuff that helps me remember what it means to be a man. Things like staring at power tools I will never use or banging on pieces of metal with a hammer. There is something wrong with being a man who knows more show tunes then most of the women he works with. Heck I can out qoute most women when it comes to Little house episodes too. I need to take up watching football.

I love the Gilmore girls, but the network took it off air - and I have no idea if or when they will put it on. When I was overseas last year I even got a friend to tape it for me. I love the interaction between the mother and daughter. And Buffy! We have the same tastes in TV. I own all of Buffy on DVD. :)

the lumpy I don’t know that this season of GG is going to be so wholesome or sweet… Lorelei and Rory aren’t on good terms. It might be a bit of a roller coaster! ;o)

I’ve never been too much of a fan of 7th Heaven… that’s a little too goodie-two shoes for me. Although, my daughter loves it.

scribeswindow I loved Buffy. Were you satisfied with the finale?
I got into the show in the last couple of seasons… so I enjoyed all the reruns on one of the other channels.

As for GG being off the air? It started last week here (southern California) - the season premiere was awesome. Sure hope you get to see it soon!

windfall woman I actually love it. I’ve been using it off and on for a few years (my mom passed along her extras) this was just my first “club” membership. ;o)
