Whew! Glad That’s Over…

The new house search is over! As of this morning our lot is reserved and our new home will be finished in March 2006 - six months… so I guess we’ll be spending the next several months picking out flooring, fixtures, colors, etc. I’m really looking forward to it. A new, energy efficient house sounds pretty good after living in a WW11-era bungalow for the last 8 years.

We’ve chosen our floor plan and the elevation:

I can’t believe the ball is finally rolling, it feels like it has taken forever to get things settled. We’ve been working on this since last May. Now we just have to wait out the six months for it to be built!

Congratulations! I know you are excited! I would be. I can’t wait to sell this old house and get something bigger.

    Have fun fixing it up!

zube girl Thanks!! We are really excited about it. We’ve wanted to move for the last 4 years…

dana Thank you! I know what you mean about the old house thing… ours feels like it is ancient and it’s not like it’s some sort of cool, old house that would be worth fixing it up and restoring it… it’s just old. LOL

Monica Thanks! Good luck on your new home search. Our real estate market here has been doing some really strange things (booming and still climbing) it’s actually cheaper to have a house built than to buy something already established. We’re just fortunate that we got on this list early enough before the prices were out of our reach.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!! That’s so exciting and you’re right, it’ll be great moving from old to new and finding that everything works, opens, closes and turns the way it’s supposed to! :-)

    Lumpy Thank you!

tj Thanks! And, you are right… no leaky roof, a dishwasher (That works), a laundry room that has nothing in common with a dungeon, and the kids will have a large enough bathroom that it might very well keep them out of MINE! Yippee!!!
