Please, Quit Your Day Job, Dumbass!
It’s cold and rainy today. The weather has just been so strange over the last 5 months. I’m about 15 minutes away from making the long drive across town to pick the kids up. It’s only Tuesday and I’m ready for the week to be over.
I found out yesterday that the little jackass who arrived on motorcycle to inspect and complete the appraisal on our house brought it in $5,000.00 LESS than the conservative appraiser who appraised it LAST JULY. Now, the market has softened slightly but values have NOT gone down and the average value in our neighborhood is $16,000.00 MORE than what he appraised our house at. Not to mention our house is one of the largest in the neighborhood (granted, it’s only 1600 sq. ft. but that actually makes a HUGE difference when all the other houses are under 1400 and most with only 1 bathroom while we have TWO).
In short, the “appraiser” was actually a trainee working under Daddy’s supervision (although no one was supervising him when he inspected MY house) and Daddy apparently has a hard-on for Mike’s boss. I’m sure it’s like this everywhere but around here if you are a member of, for example, the dental profession than it’s a very small community where everyone knows about everyone else’s business. It’s no different in the real estate portion of the community either.
Apparently there is a lot of very bad blood between Mike’s boss and snot-nose, wet behind the ears, poor excuse for an appraiser’s Daddy.
So in short… he low-balled our value just to be an asshole.
Fortunately, Mike pulled a ton of comparable properties to support a much higher value and the appraisal is going to be contested. We’ll see what happens…
I hate assholes.

Surely it will all work out for you in the end.

Chickie My thoughts exactly.
I sure hope it does… :o)

Assholes abound Amy. I am sure this will work out in your favor, but I understand the frustration of the extra work an asshole can add to a situation.
Rest assured, that eventually karma will kick his ass!

Really? I love assholes. Just kidding. That SUCKS. I’ve never trusted appraisers, always thought they were in league with the realtors or someone else. I mean, how the hell would I know if what they were saying was even close to true? “Oh, you need a new johnson rod in the breezeway under the portico”. What the hell do I know? Not that that’s their fault, but you get what I mean.

I am sending him “fall of your bike you raging dickweed asshole” vibes. I hope they help!

3T And boy, I am seriously frustrated with this situation. What a little jerk, you know?
I sure hope you are right. Wish I could see it happen.
MrsFortune Well, appraisers are just like people in any other profession, there are good and bad probably more of the latter than the former.
The last appraiser who was here knew his stuff and worked for a bank so he wasn’t being pushed to hit any number.
The guys in Mike’s office are all pretty good guys who are doing the very best they can… then there is the dickhead I had to deal with last week. auuuuuuuuuuuuugh!
Crazy Lady From your mouth to Karma’s ears. ;o)

I hope your appeal goes well, because that stinks.

Bonanza Yeah, well… it sucks, because they all just folded like a house a cards.
“Roll over and play dead the snot-nosed appraiser wannabe pulled an illegitimate value out of his ass - ALL HAIL THE DUMBASS with a TRAINEE’S LICENSE!!!”
I swear… I’m still fuming over it.

Happy Birthday!
I still remember the camp-outs my best friend and I would have.
April 14, 2006 @ 6:02 pm
What a fun birthday party. I don’t remember camping a lot as a child - except that every time we did, it snowed or rained.
April 14, 2006 @ 6:59 pm
Wow, how totally cool! Her party will be the talk of her circle for ages. I agree with you, it did suck, but there were those moments that … make you at least nostalgic.

What great memories! My kids would love to do that, but we don’t have enough room for a tent!
April 15, 2006 @ 11:11 pm
Aww! Happy Birthday to her! Hope it was great! Now I wanna have a slumber party. :( Think my friends would think me strange? Aww heck, they already do…heh

Chickie Weren’t those camp-outs the best?
Crazy Lady She had such a good time, too. I can only remember a few camping trips that we got rained on… I’d be for a lot more of them, but after three kids I’m not to big on sleeping on the ground, you know?
MrsFortune I think it will be too, all the girls seemed to just have such a good time. This was definitely one of those things that only brought back good memories, thank goodness.
Ficklechick I know what you mean, we don’t have any room now either and if we put a pool in the backyard at the new house we definitely won’t have the room. LOL
Kentucky Girl She had such a good time and boy, did I want to crawl in and join them! Then it occurred to me… I no longer fit in, I’m just a boring mom and worse yet, I was a mom with a CAMERA!!!
