Molly… the Cat

Not to be confused with Molly… the dog, my mother’s cocker spaniel that everyone in the family absolutely adores. Yes, now we have two pets with the same name in the family. This should make for interesting holiday fodder. And to satisfy your curiosity here is a picture:

Molly Brown

Of Molly, the dog. Why not Molly, the cat? Well, we’ve had a little bit of an issue with Molly. As gorgeous as she is, as typical cat-friendly as she appeared whenever I visited my cousin at her house, it seems that when Molly has been ousted from the only home and family she has ever known, she tends to get a little pissed stressed.

Molly is currently residing IN the boxspring of Kate’s bed. One time she crept down the stairs and when we saw her in the hall and made eye contact she was back up the stairs and under the bed in no time flat.

We all take turns going in, laying down on the floor, peering under the bed, and, well, kissing Molly’s ass. I think most of us would agree that cats really get off on having their feline butts kissed, this one… I don’t know, she expects jewelry or something.

Typically our attempts of friendliness are met with growls, hissing and if you aren’t careful the not-so-gentle swipe from a paw with claws bared. Since we can’t really see her under there, it usually scares us to the point of losing control of our bodily functions when a smoke-gray paw appears out of nowhere to try and maim us.

Kate slept on the floor in our bedroom the first night.

I’m having flashbacks of Pet Semetary.

I hope she’s not plotting to kill us in our sleep.

Much more of this shit and I am going to send Molly the Dog in after her.

Send that toddler in after her. Emma has done an amazing job of taming our cat. She’s even taught her how to play dead.

Cute dog! Have to tried getting some catnip mebbe? Toss a little cloth packet of that under the matress with her and see if it would help calm her down a bit?

We’re not a cat household so I have no suggestions on how to get a cat out from under a bed. Wait… I do. We had a stray come into our house one time, and we got him out with lunch meat!

Geez… I just cannot believe it, yet another picture of one of my household in your infamous Blog…dear lord is nothing sacred!
First it is my “face” in recovery, my embarrassment at ill performed baseball maneuvers and now my beloved canine!
You would actually think of sacraficing my beloved Molly to that she devil…..let’s not mention the language:shock:

Ahhh molly the dog is so cute!

And poor molly the cat… she must be really scared (ok, poor Amy’s family too!). Just give her a few more days and I’m sure she will calm down and get used to her new surroundings. My cat hid behind the oven for a couple of days when I first got him from the shelter. Yeah, I kissed a lot of kitty butt too!

Very cute! Hopefully they will be able to cohabitate in harmony. It will take a little time. Perhaps rubbing catnip on Molly the dog will help???

HA! Damn, poor old Dad! Does he need to borrow one of my female companions? All he needs is a bicycle pump.

Miss Britt Well, he doesn’t do it often, or to his face for that matter… but on occasion it slips and it’s usually pretty damn funny.

Mindless Dribbler  Yeah, well, he’d just want to fill it with helium and chase it around the house.

Crazy Lady Too quick for his own good, usually. LOL
