After a night of cold sweats, chills, hot flashes and the realization that as much as I wish it were menopause it is only the flu, I’m precariously perched at my desk, nervously glancing at my webcam to ensure that I am not “live.” No one should have to see me in my current state, with the exception of my husband who promised that whole, “in sickness and in health” thing a very long time ago. You and I don’t have the misfortune of such vows so I want to make sure that the images of me in your mind remain pure and untainted by the virus that is waging war in my sinuses even now as I type this.
Even though I was coming down with a slow and painful death the flu, I soldiered on, installing my new webcam and attempting to chat online last night with Miss Britt and Avi. If it weren’t for Avi I might never have figured out why my mic was not working. Don’t think he isn’t regretting that. His one kind act for this year and he blew it and ended up having to listen to me ooo and ahhhh over Britt’s new addition to her porn shoe collection.
Britt busted out cherry infused Vodka and diet pepsi while I settled in with a gin martini. Yes, that’s correct, it’s not just a pretty decoration on my blog, I actually like gin martinis.
Unfortunately, I had to call it a night early so that I could muster what was left of my strength and sobriety to climb up the stairs and collapse into bed with yet more chills, sweats, and aches.
You are more than welcome to join us some time. The times vary but it’s usually in the evening. It’s not Oscar worthy entertainment or anything, but it beats the hell out of cleaning the kitchen or something.
By the way, even though she likes football, watched the Superbowl and has a questionable taste in music, please go here and vote for Miss Britt. She was nominated for an award and there is nothing we like more than a happy Miss Britt. I think, anyway, but then again, I am on cold medication so I can’t be held accountable for my spontaneous act of pimping.
