Ouch… Oh! He Got Me…

Blame him. He tagged me with this lovely restaurant meme. I have tagged a few people (at the end of the post) and the rules are below. Enjoy!!

The Rules:

  • Add a direct link to your post below the name of the person who tagged you. Include the state and country you’re in.
  • List out your top 5 favorite places to eat at your location (locally).
  • Tag 5 other people (preferably from other countries/states) and let them know they’ve been tagged.

My 5 favorite places to eat locally:

1.) Joseph’s – it’s a locally owned, little, hole-in-the-wall, Italian restaurant that looks like something out of the Sopranos. We often fantasize that the chef is actually hiding from the mafia – the place is just that authentic and the food is OUT of this WORLD! All made from scratch, the best manicotti, pizza, and lasagna you’ve ever tasted! Also the place Mike took me on our very first date. I’ve often imagined that the Martinelli’s described in the original Parent Trap movie was very much like this.

2.) El Patio a local Mexican restaurant that specializes in seafood. It’s lighter Mexican fare with steamed and awesomely seasoned vegetables, great fajitas, and awesome seafood enchiladas. And, no one in town can beat The Patio Margarita.

3.) Akira’s Teppan at it’s best. I love Japanese food and the sushi here is mind blowing! I’m not incredibly fond of having to chat with strangers but the last time we were there Mike and I were seated by a really funny, older couple and had the best time!

4.) JB and Marie’s It’s actually the Chateau Basque (or Chalet, I can’t remember which) but we’ve always referred to it as JB and Marie’s even though JB and Marie sold it a few years ago. The current owner has maintained everything just the way JB and Marie did for YEARS right down to the pickled tongue which is to DIE for!!! I’m an absolute Basque food freak!

5.) Elephant Bar Restaurant – yeah, yeah, a chain… so what! The food is great, I love the astmosphere, and they have this awesome salad with bleu cheese crumbles that is out of this world!

    4. Don’t knock it till you try it!!
    5. The food here is pretty good, but I’ve only been twice so what the heck do I know?

Britt In every story there is a penis to be found, eh?

Webmiztris It does make you hungry, doesn’t it? I love reading how people describe their favorite restaurants.

Nicole JB and Marie’s name is posh, but the interior is rather dark, the bar is totally old school which makes it really fun.

Velverse You are very welcome – glad you enjoyed it!!

  8. avitable says:

Mexican seafood just sounds horrible. And I’ve eaten at The Elephant Bar 20 or 30 times when we lived in Los Angeles because my wife liked it. I thought it was meh.

  9. Miss Britt says:

Yes, although in MY stories they don’t come through the backdoor.

  10. avitable says:

    Oh no you dint!

  11. Amy says:

Avi Mexican seafood is awesome! Shrimp fajitas, at the right place, are SOOOOOO freaking good!!! And, truthfully, the spices typically used in that food go so well with seafood!

    and… uh, yes she did.

Britt True. True. Of course, they don’t in MY stories either.
