Au Naturale

 alright boys don’t get your hopes up!

(and you know who you are)

Bits and pieces…

————————–

Kate set a glass of iced tea on my desk and attempted to take away my 3rd cup of coffee which was now cold. I snatched the mug back and downed the coffee.

Kate:
You are even weirder than I thought.

Me: I need all the caffeine I can get. You don’t think this level of perky happens naturally do you?

————————–

Ethan:
You won’t believe what happened last night.

Me: What?

Ethan: I got into Evan’s car and he had music playing… it was “Take On Me” by Aha!

Me:
Ha! That’s COOL!

Ethan: Uh, sure, except that he and Adrian knew all the words and sang the entire thing.

:lmao:

————————–

Speaking of Ethan - he went to the movies the other night with Adrian, Evan, and a few other guys. It seems that Adrian’s girlfriend of over a year dumped him and he was depressed and needed some guy time.

The boys lined up at the ticket booth to purchase tickets and Adrian purchased his first. Each guy, in turn, simply said - “One more…” to indicate he wanted to purchase the same thing that Adrian purchased.

Upon entering the theater they glanced at their tickets and instead of seeing “Evan Almighty” Adrian had elected to see “Knocked Up!”

That’s right, my son sat through a semi-chick flick / semi-date movie with 4 other boys.

:lmao:

Mr. Fabulous says:

Aw, that’s okay. It was a great movie!

avitable says:

Knocked Up isn’t a chick flick, any more than 40-Year Old Virgin was. It’s all about porn and drugs and shit like that. And Evan Almighty is a shitburger of a movie.

I think I’m going to go listen to Aha! now.

ADW says:

Yeah, Knocked Up was so many kinds of foul there is no wya it qualifies as a chick flick.

Amy says:

Mr. Fab He didn’t seem to think so.

Avi & ADW Ethan didn’t care for it and apparently the entire theater was filled with either girls or couples… he definitely felt like it was a chick flick / date movie. He said it only had a few funny parts and that was about it.

avitable says:

Really? I might have to re-assess my opinion of him!

Anything by Judd Apatow can’t be considered a chick flick, especially if it has Seth Rogen and Paul Rudd in it. There were people who got pinkeye from guys farting in their face, pot smoking as a career, watching porns to see when celebrities show bush, and stuff that just classifies it as a general comedy.

avitable says:

And Evan Almighty is a Christian morality play.

Miss Britt says:

…was going to comment but is now scurrying off to buy a ticket to see Evan Almighty.

I :heartbeat: Christian morality plays!!!

avitable says:

You’re a funny bitch.

Amy says:

Avi It was less about the movie and more about the people occupying the theater. Given that it was filled with either couples or women - apparently a lot of people were under the mistaken impression that it was a chick flick.

He didn’t come back raving about it… he just said that it had a couple of funny parts and that was it.

Re: Evan Almighty - meh… I think people see that and hope it will be as funny as Bruce Almighty - which, I think, was hysterical.

Amy says:

Miss B :lmao: Where the hell have you been this morning? Where is my post beeeeyotch?

Joefish says:

Au naturale? What? Huh? Where am I?

Amy says:

Joe I don’t know where you are… but I’d sure as hell like to know where you’ve BEEN!

What - you only comment on posts that a link to you on? Mean Joe… MEAN!!!!

And… you didn’t comment on Mike’s Father’s Day video… I’m SOOOOO hurt!

:pissed:

Joefish says:

I’ve been doing stuff.

Sarcastica says:

I saw both those movies, and I liked Knocked Up better. Evan Almighty wasn’t all that funny, sure it had its moments - like at the end credits - but Knocked Up was a little better.
