Flaming Twat Wads
Oooo, there, I finally posted a nasty title.
And, I MEAN it too.
What has gotten into girls lately? Are moms not doing their jobs? Dads? Someone? Helloooooo?
My brother asked a girl to the winter formal - as a FRIEND. Not as a ROMANTIC DATE. A FRIEND. She’s a senior and has never gone to the formal the ENTIRE TIME SHE HAS BEEN IN HIGH SCHOOL.
And, my brother went and asked her out - simply because he didn’t want her senior year let alone her entire high school career to go by without her having the opportunity to attend the formal.
Seriously… LOOK at this guy:
He’s GORGEOUS… is he not?
Want to know what happened? One MONTH later… just two WEEKS before the formal (ok 2 1/2 weeks, but who is counting, right?) - she calls him up to break the date so she can go with HER FRIENDS.
Because… as all of us “grown ups” know, nothing says “I am woman, hear me roar with my other GIRL friends and uh, no MALE date” like showing up with all of your friends and standing up against the wall during all the slow dances like a scene cut from “Pretty in Pink”.
Yes, I’m nasty. But, SERIOUSLY… my brother could have gone with a very nice, very pretty, very good friend. Instead he chose to do something NICE for someone else… WTF is WRONG with this world?
Ok, I know there are some girls out here who occasionally read my blog… if you are reading this now… what are your thoughts on it? Hmmm? Seriously? Is this the way things are done now? Am I just embarrassingly out of the loop?
Yeah, it’s my brother… I’m a bit defensive. But, that doesn’t excuse bad manners any day.

Well, you didn’t tag me. And I haven’t been tagged.
But then… we all know I’m not nice.
YOU however… well, girlfriend, I can’t think of a blogger more deserving of the honor. MUAH!

I’ve been called a lot of things in my time. I can safely say that “nice” has never been one of them… First time for everything, I suppose. Thanks!
August 27, 2007 @ 4:29 am
Did Britt cheat and comment on your post early? She’s such a whore!
Yeah, I notice that I’m not considered nice either, by anyone. And I’m okay with that.
August 27, 2007 @ 8:23 am
Miss B I believe you were tagged already. Otherwise I would have tagged you because I happen to think you are very nice. :heartbeat:
RW You are quite welcome, sir!
Avi Uh, well, I just couldn’t see you posting this cute pink graphic on your blog, plus, you’ve done a lot of things this year that people would see as very nice and I know you like to maintain a very different reputation.

You tagged me? What the hell? Any cash go along with that?
August 27, 2007 @ 10:37 am
Joe No cash, just my undying gratitude and affection. What??? Isn’t THAT good enough????
August 28, 2007 @ 12:44 pm
Yeah, that’s more than good enough.
:heartbeat:
(But I’m still not going to do it. heh.)
August 28, 2007 @ 12:48 pm
Joe Oh, I knew that, just wanted you to know that you are appreciated!!

Aw, thanks!

Awww, thank you! And here I showed up late for the party. (About to release a string of curse words that would not befit a Nice blogger - LOL)
Hope you have an awesome day!

Maybe it’s because my school didn’t really do the whole ‘bring dates to formal’ thing, but I don’t think this is a bad thing.
Having a good time with friends may seem better than a pity date, BUT she shouldn’t have left it so late to tell him.
I do think it was an awesome thing for him to do.
December 30, 2007 @ 6:39 am
He IS pretty. I almost want to date him.
Also, best post title ever.
December 30, 2007 @ 7:35 am
I see this all the time. Girl accepts guy’s offer to go to Prom; girl gets better offer; girl dumps guy to go with “better” guy. However, not to be sexist… I’ve seen guys do the same thing to girls. It pisses me off every single time.
And I agree with you, it’s rude and shows a complete lack of proper home training.
December 30, 2007 @ 10:32 am
Yes, it sucks. And yes, it’s rude as hell.
So, hopefully, your brother (who is gorgeous) can go with his buddies and just relax and have fun.
He gets points for trying to do the right thing.

Gaaah poor guy.
:/ it’s weird because Brianna seems like such a nice person too.
well [sigh] i hope this doesn’t become a third wheel thing. i don’t want him to feel awkward
December 30, 2007 @ 11:58 am
Love the post title and yes, he’s gorgeous. She’s got serious issues for acting like that. ick.
December 30, 2007 @ 12:03 pm
That’s just rude.
Hey, this reminds me of something that happened when I was in high school. I’ll have to blog about it.
December 30, 2007 @ 12:30 pm
What a flaming twat wad!
December 30, 2007 @ 1:52 pm
Tis a rude thing that has been done to him for sure.
He did the right thing I think. It’s too bad it has worked out this way.

Not to worry, he would never become a third wheel..too much pride and wouldn’t want to make anyone else feel awkward.
He has learned a valuable lesson and will approach the female gender more cautiously in the future. Life lessons, yes I think he is just too nice. I must also add that “she” had no idea it was a “pity” date. She actually thought he was “interested” in her and used that as one of her excuses. He then made it clear that he thought it would be fun to go with the two other couples and have a good time together…so..such is life in High School. How did we all survive?
After a couple of days of thinking it through and feeling humiliated..he is on the mend.
December 30, 2007 @ 2:04 pm
BTW, the more recent pictures of this guy are seen on Amy’s flicker above ..check out the Mustang photo…ok I’m a bit prejudice where all my kids are concerned, but he’s not bad on the eyes…just to darn nice that’s all.
Thanks for supporting your brother kiddo..love you!
December 30, 2007 @ 7:36 pm
That was very immature of her.
December 31, 2007 @ 5:21 pm
Everyone - (aka, lazy way of avoiding responding to everyone… sad, I know, I won’t make a habit of it, PROMISE!)
Thanks so much. And, I should have made this clear because I sound like a snobby bitch who expects gratitude from the poor wallflower. This is NOT the case… I was just really upset for my brother.
The fact is, the girl in question claims to not be able to go with him because one of his friends is an ex-boyfriend of one of her friends. And this little, unrelated relationship drama happened last year - so why it should factor in now is beyond me.
It took her over a month to decide that she didn’t want to go with him. This is just poor upbringing and bad manners, obviously. And, quite frankly, the same goes for her little twit friend (the one with the ex-boyfriend).

Aaaawwwww - what a sweetie your brother is! From my current experience teaching middle school students and past personal experience, girls are mean…… I hate to generalize, but the truth is in there. All I can say is, I’m trying to train my own daughter to NOT be mean.
