A Night In The Life Of Maggie Doran
Saturday night Maggie was in a strange mood.
Kate had a friend over and this always puts Maggie in “pesky little sister” mode. I’ve discovered that this is just a natural instinct between siblings. Ethan was getting ready for the formal and that meant a lot of attention was being devoted to him. This put Maggie in “make a complete ass of yourself / life of the party” mode. Which was funny for about 45 seconds. And when it wasn’t funny anymore Maggie was forced to find other ways to draw attention to herself:

Of course, Mom and Dad just kept taking pictures. Then Ethan, Julie, and Uncle Garett were all getting into a limo and EVERYONE was making a big deal about it. That’s when Maggie started taking desperate measures.

And we thought she was going to be a veterinarian!
This plan backfired because everyone just laughed and took a couple of pictures. Not quite the response she had planned. It would seem that an evening of chaos and mayhem were not worth the trouble since tantrums, mischief, and general “up to no good-ness” can really wear a girl out. No matter how determined she might be:

You didn’t figure out what caused it? That’s not good.

The batteries were croaking. They go off when the batteries get too low.
September 3, 2007 @ 5:18 am
Ah. I thought maybe the humidity was so bad there that it was causing smoke-like symptoms.
September 3, 2007 @ 5:43 am
:pissed: That would have made me very upset for a little while.
This is for you.

Waking up like that always make me feel sick… At least it wasn’t fire, that would suck BIG time.

OK, am I the ONLY one who thought I might get a reprieve because it’s a fucking HOLIDAY??
Bastards.

Holy Cow! Glad it was just batteries. I was thinking forest fire, smoke from the area…
September 3, 2007 @ 9:31 am
Avi That’s what Mike thought too. I kept saying, it’s the batteries! It’s the batteries! He finally changed them out that afternoon and they were half dead.
HA! I love being right.
DeeJay Oh boy was I! And, thank you, very much.
Cheers!
Geek Captain, we salute you! Keep up the good work. :cheesy:
Miss B I thought that no one would see this post because they would all be off barbecuing or whatever people do on Labor Day. But, I was wrong!! It’s the first time, I don’t plan to make a habit of it.
Trish That’s what Mike was thinking as well… that and the humidity. The things that fire has done to our weather around here. Gah!!

Ours went off once when a spider walked across the sensor. No kidding. I killed the bastard.

Your house is haunted. You’ll get used to it - I did - LOL
On the off chance that you have a killer ghost, I promise to write you a nice blogituary, just like you promised me.
(snicker)
Glad everyone is OK. I know you’re looking forward to autumn as much as I am.

Let’s hear about the formal!
January 14, 2008 @ 6:38 am
HAHAHHAHHAHAHHA - Maggie tried to hang one of her dolls?
I think that was a warning shot, personally.
January 14, 2008 @ 7:32 am
Wow, she is giving someone the evil eye!! :whosnext:
January 14, 2008 @ 9:18 am
This is so funny! I don’t think I would have ever though to hang bunny (my toy as a child)…
At least she gave him enough room to continue to breathe while having a couple of paws on the floor.

Lil T is the same way. Competition for attention against the older kids and their friends… otherwise known as if you don’t pay attention to me I’m gonna pitch a royal bitch and it ain’t gonna be pretty!!
January 14, 2008 @ 10:43 am
Avi - you don’t find Maggie amusing?
Miss Britt - Animals… you know Maggie doesn’t have any dolls! LOL
And, yeah, I was thinking warning shot as well.
Trish - Just a bit.
Absurdist - I wish I could say that was the case, unfortunately, Leopard was completely dangling with no paw to floor contact. LOL Apparently, Maggie meant business.
January 14, 2008 @ 11:03 am
Diva - That’s about it, exactly!! :lmao:
January 14, 2008 @ 11:03 am
Maggie’s hilarious, but you glossed right over the formal part. Usually, you’d gush over Ethan for a bit, too.
January 14, 2008 @ 11:04 am
Tomorrow… tomorrow. You think I’d let Ethan’s first formal get away without devoting an entire post?!?!?!
January 14, 2008 @ 11:05 am
Oh, okay.
January 14, 2008 @ 11:22 am
That’s what I meant.
Also, please tell Maggie Auntie B Money loves her. And wishes her no harm. And would be awfully heavy to get into a noose.
Just… ya know… mention it. K?
January 14, 2008 @ 12:56 pm
Hey, you have to give her an A for effort!
January 14, 2008 @ 1:02 pm
She is now shooting to the top of my list of heroes!
January 14, 2008 @ 2:53 pm
You can tell that being such an angel wears her out!
January 14, 2008 @ 6:37 pm
Yes even an only child will resort to these antics. Little one is the devil sometimes.
January 14, 2008 @ 7:59 pm
I’d be keeping my eye on that one!! :omg:
January 14, 2008 @ 9:20 pm
ahaha maggie is precious. i nearly tripped over her trying to get out the door :lmao:
January 15, 2008 @ 2:36 pm
Could you send me some nail clippings and hair from Maggie’s next grooming. I’d like to clone her.
