Meet Adam

Adam, The Lavender Plant
This is Adam, isn’t he beautiful? He has a lovely little terracotta pot and a gorgeous olive toned Todd Oldham grosgrain ribbon.
He’s a wonderful, little friend. I always know what he’s up to or what he’s doing, he’s very like that. He’s loyal, he’s quiet, but he’s quiet in that really supportive kind of way, and he smells sooooooo good. I think I love him. :heartbeat:
*In case anyone is wondering, this was my birthday present from Mr. Avitable, who only exhibits maybe one or two of little Adam’s wonderful qualities. As I have never been in the same room with Mr. Avitable, I have no idea how he might smell, but I always imagine him smelling like fresh baked cookies not lavender.

Man, there’s nothing better than the belly laugh of little, little kids.
(and you know I would seriously disagree with you on that whole “locking herself in the bathroom is just her way of making boundaries” thing, right?)

Avi LOL
Miss B Uh, you do know I was being completely sarcastic right? She was in big trouble for that and she lost the popsicle too. What kind of a mother do you take me for?
September 7, 2007 @ 10:54 am
Yes, yes, of COURSE I did.

A) I think you are an AWESOME mom. You know that.
B) It would not at all surprise me to hear you say something about one of your kids “setting boundaries” - or, you know, some very open, loving blah blah blah style of parenting that I’m wound too tight to get.
C) I think you are an AWESOME mom.
Seriously. Awesome.

Eh, well, I’m open to hearing them out and respecting their thoughts and opinions, right down to the 2 year old. But, I am not so open to outright defiance or disobedience.
And, give me a break! You’ve HEARD me letting them have it! :whosnext:

i KNOW!!!!
Listen, I don’t know all the rules and stuff to open parenting or whatever the hell you call the differences between our styles!! So, I hear “setting boundaries” and I think “hm, maybe that’s just some thing I don’t get”.

That little girl belly laugh seriously warms the cockles of my cold, blackened heart. How fun!

That belly laugh is about the only thing that keeps her breathing some times… well, that and those blond curls.

That’s all I’m going to be hearing for the rest of the afternoon now.

There is no sound in the world that I love better than the belly laugh of a little one. Makes me crack up every time.

That’s one of my favorites sounds too!!

Whatever. I seriously think it WAS a good boundary. Which explains a lot, now that I think about it. :dazed:

Britt’s Mom And how did you end up with such a tight ass for a daughter?
Miss B Pfft. For the most part, you’ve turned out ok, so it couldn’t have been THAT bad.

THAT, my friend, is the great mystery of our time.
September 9, 2007 @ 7:49 pm
That was super nice of you to let her play with the bubble wrap. I keep it all for myself and pop it compulsively in rows. Sometimes if I am feeling extra nice and my kids have been fabulous I will cut them out a section of their own to pop.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
You said Adam was loyal!?!
HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHA
Ohhh, that’s a good one.
Adam! Loyal!
HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA

Since I bathe in chocolate and strawberry-smelling Sephora 3-in-1 wash, I probably smell like Neopolitan ice cream.
And I am loyal!

Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha
Actually the “fresh baked cookies” makes me think of that scene in the movie “Michael”….
But wow, what an awesome birthday present. I would love love love that!!!
January 31, 2008 @ 10:46 am
Miss B - How would YOU know how loyal my plant is? Maybe he’s the most loyal plant on the planet, did you consider that?
Adam - Of course you are! No one would ever question that. I mean, there could be people who intend to slander the reputation of a defenseless lavender plant, but not you. Not you.
B’s Mom - Isn’t that awesome? I love, love, love lavender. And, the fact that it is soooo easy to grow doesn’t hurt one bit!
January 31, 2008 @ 10:53 am
Oh believe me, I know.
January 31, 2008 @ 12:31 pm
Loyal? Quiet? SMELLS GOOD???? :what:
U sure you want to call it Adam? I mean… ya know…
*over to Adam’s to drop the hint that Feb 27 is DB’s birthday*

I can’t see Adam smelling like fresh baked cookies… many other things - but not fresh baked cookies.
