Obsess Much?

We were watching The Travel Channel or Food Network the other day (I really don’t remember which) it was this entire show on fried foods (Fried Food Paradise, I think) and they were showing all these different foods being deep fried, pickles, fish and chips, hamburgers, hot dogs, bacon (yes, bacon), twinkies, etc. etc. etc.
So I am sitting here having chicken soup with a bottle of cold Sam Adam’s Winter Ale. It’s lovely, perfect for a winter’s evening, sure, but now all I can think about is fish and chips. Fish and chips… mmmmm. Fish and chips…
with beer.
Mmmmmmm.
Fried fish with lots of lemon and really good tartar sauce.
Mmmmmmm.
And maybe some chowder or shrimp cocktail oooh, and oysters on the half-shell! Yum!!!
Yeah, that’s the ticket.

I should come back and read this again when I am more awake. I know it would make me crave some good fish then. But right now.. coffee is all I want.

I totally understand that. It’s probably a good thing you read this in the morning!
Thanks for that.
*Wonders if fish is really a breakfast food.*

I don’t think I could eat fish in the morning. Tacos, sure… but fish? Naah.
There goes my diet! :nyah:

So, you know how the idea of a deep fried hot dog sounds totally disgusting? They are actually incredibly delicious! Now I totally want to pull out the counter top deep fryer thing that we never use and make some!

If you just say, “hey wanna deep fried hot dog?” It sounds gross, but on that show we watched some hot dog place in New Jersey or something has been doing that forever and they call them “rippers” because of the way the skin splits. I’d TOTALLY be willing to try one! They looked GOOD! :groovy:
There’s a place in Tempe called Rula Bula (Irish pub) that has the best fish and chips I’ve ever had in my life. And I’ve had some damned good fish and chips in my time. Looks like you’re going to have to come out for a visit and satisfy that craving!

Sounds good to me!! :yay:
I love fish and chips. With some really good malt vinegar on them. Yummmm. Now it makes my mesquite smoked chicken that I have going for dinner not sound so good!

It’s a long, long damn time.
Wait… today is Wednesday!! WOOT… ok then, not that long at all!
Mmmm! now I want fish and chips!
I’m glad I waited until I was finished working before I read your blog today. I would have been typing “fish and chips” instead of “name and address” on all my files today.

I have been feeling the same way about pasta: all forms of pasta! Especially, for some weird reason….tortellini. Yummy.
