In Case You Were Wondering…

Posted By AmyD. on February 17, 2009

I’m lost in the midst of all these three day weekends. I can’t seem to keep track of which weekend is or isn’t an extended weekend. The up side to that is it’s a great surprise when you realize on Saturday that it’s a three day weekend. The only downside is when someone in the family doesn’t have a day off or you end up working anyway (which I did) and then it doesn’t feel like an off day, just a bizarrely inconvenienced one when it feels like half the world is off and other isn’t.

A pint of Guinness at the Tilted Kilt

Valentine’s Day was nice. Mike and I ducked out for a bit bought a few bottles of wine for our nearly empty racks at home and then headed over to The Tilted Kilt for a few pints. He had Arrogant Bastard and Guinness, I had Stella Artois, Boddington and Guinness. I was in the mood for another pint but had to have my Guinness and go home because the kids were having company.

Mike and Amy Valentine's Day 2009
Yes, Mike was happy. That’s his happy face. He’s a bitch when it comes to taking pictures. (Hear that, Mike? I called you a BITCH!!!!” ) :nyah:

Sunday the weather was sunny and Mike talked us into going fishing with him. By the time we got to the lake the wind had kicked up tremendously and made it impossible to cast. We let Maggie run around a bit and then headed home.

Our lives are just so exciting.

Between rain and wind I still haven’t planted my spinach and this morning I looked out and Oreo (the smaller, female rabbit) was munching on my red geranium!!!

My phone died. It’s sad. The cat splashed water on it and now half the buttons don’t work and it’s just sad. I loved that phone. It was my favorite cell phone ever. So, I’m bummed. But, I have a shiny, new cell phone coming in the next couple of days, really the timing couldn’t have been better since I was do for an upgrade anyway. But, for the record, I hate getting used to anything new. It bugs, seriously.

That’s a good picture. :) I think mike is like my bf when it comes to pictures..however at least mike kept his eyes open! My bf never does!

Thanks! Mike is a pain about pictures. I ragged on him all night about that one. LOL

Take your wet cell phone apart and put all the pieces in a ziplock bag of white rice. The rice draws the moisture out of the phone. It might not be too late to get it working again. Dj dropped hers in the horse trough twice and the toilet once and it kept right on ticking. (She also ran it over with the lawn mower.) :yay:

Sounds about like my weekend. Fun – but nothing special. Well, actually getting to go out alone with your husband IS special. I didn’t get to do even that! I hope your new phone gets here soon, and you :pph: it!

Awww, man. I’m sorry. My cell phone came in today, I don’t know if I’m going to like it or not… it’s so DIFFERENT. Ack!!!!

At least you saw your hubby on Valentine’s Day. Mine was out of town so I was here all by my lonesome (well, the kids were here, but they don’t count…sorry kiddoes) We did celebrate on Sunday though so all wasn’t lost, plus the restaurant wasn’t as crowded as i’m sure it was on Saturday night.

Lisa’s last blog post..Another Meme…yes, I’ve still got brain block

Soooo… thanks to the cat you get a new shiny cellphone… I need to get myself a cat…

I’ve got two you can have.

Wait… I joke. I love my cats. Sometimes more than I love my kids. Ha! Joking again.

I love that picture of you two! And I think I’m in love with Arrogant Bastard. I’ve never heard of it before, but with a name like that, how can you go wrong???? And were any pink panties thrown around after all those pints

I loved the name before I tasted it too! It’s awesome, btw.

And, alas, there was no tossing of pink panties. :bummed:

    Becky Reply:

I’m bummed out for two reasons:

    1. No tossing of the panties. This situation must be remedied.
    2. I can’t find Arrogant Bastard anywhere around me!! WTF? I’m supposed
to live in a state known for drinking!
