May The Lime Be With You

Posted By AmyD. on April 23, 2009

Okay… I haven’t been around in a while. I’ve been busy with stuff…

like this:

Tile

Our new outdoor kitchen. Not quite finished yet… still some minor tweaking to do and some finish work, but obviously ready to party!

My dad is the bomb. He designed and built the whole thing. Okay, Mike helped a little.

My dad!

With lights!

And it has lights! We still have some tile work to finish up before we grout. And, it’ll probably take another coat of sealant. Although, I’m still peeling that stuff off my nails. Ack!

We’ve been eating outside for a while now. It’s just too much fun! Besides there is nothing like making an asada taco fresh off the grill. Yum.

    Love the tilework.

That’s an awful lot of food. You’ll be needing some guests to help you with that, right? :toya:

We are outside almost every evening now! We just cook and eat right off the grill it’s so much fun. I love that now it’s super comfortable to hang out with Mike while he grills without us getting in his way or him being outside and away from the rest of the party.

    So when’s the KitchenWarming Party?

Soon. Still have to finish it, put a roof on it, ceiling fan, misters (it gets super hot here in the summer), grouting the tile would be cool too… gotta do that. Oh man, I’m tired just writing out the list and it’s not finished yet!

We have a little kitchen area in our garden too (no-where near as pretty as yours!)and I’m always so excited about having a sink outside! I really love the square dishes that you’re cooking on in the last picture, we need some of those.

Those dishes to cook on are AMAZING. You can’t ruin vegetables in them! And, there is nothing better than grilled veggies cooked outside. You sound like my husband, he’s very excited to have a sink outside.

Sooooooon. Actually, it’s not done yet. We have some plans in the works… need to increase the actual bar space because everyone loves to crowd up around it and it only seats 3 comfortably.

Yep. It’s very fun to have the “two kitchens” face each other like that. We open up the kitchen window so as he’s cooking outside and I’m cooking inside we can chat back and forth. It’s cool too because I never have to give up my sink anymore. He has a garbage disposal out there as well!
