Sweating – just let them sit in the pot on a med heat with a lid on and get happy together.

That soup is so good. I reheated it and had it for lunch today.

You guys have made me feel so much better about my Halloween stuff still being out.

That recipe sounds yummy. I may even be inspired enough to try to make it. Once I figure out what “sweating” means. Yeah, I’m really not much of a cook. But, I’m willing to try.

My Halloween is still up. I have off next weekend, so most off it will go away then and the more fallish stuff will come out.

HAHAHA. Wow, I’m not a huge fan of the removable handle thing. I’d rather just have everything in cast iron and call it good. LOL

We have one cast iron skillet that has a wooden handle. It’s Mike’s “baby” and he has a fit if we don’t oil it. LOL

Heh, I was at a friend’s house for supper a couple of weeks ago and noticed that all of the pots on her stove didn’t have handles. I was making a mental note to self to put a pot for her on my Christmas list. Realized later that she had some super fancy pots that had handles that detached so you could stick them in the oven. At that point I told her what I’d been thinking and was glad that I’d learned the truth before giving her pots to replace her “bad” ones.

I love green peas but for some reason, have never been able to even try a taste of the soup. But bacon makes anything good!
