I started out trying to tie up as many loose ends as I could. I’ve lost a lot of clutter, thrown out a lot of garbage and I’ve waited for items on back order to be delivered.

Recently we started doing a room swap around the house and it was decided that Maggie would move into the room next door to Katie. Maggie’s main room colors have always been pink and green in pastel shades. We accented with roses and frogs, lots of frogs because Maggie loves frogs. But, then she got older and the pastel room colors really didn’t suit her personality. Maggie is vibrant and she loves animals. And, Maggie is always up for an adventure. Her room needed to have that feeling. I think we captured that for the most part.

This is the “After” see the chair in the corner? The large picture is an Alice in Wonderland print that Maggie picked out. It’s this really detailed print and it seems like every time you look at it you find something you missed before.

The valance is one of my favorite parts. It’s made from a cotton shower curtain I picked up on clearance.

Admittedly, my photography skills are lacking and I don’t think the pics do it justice at all, it’s really adorable. Katie and I had so much fun redoing it and even Maggie helped paint.

I think it’s safe to say she loves it.

And now I know why she wanted a room that faced the street…

All in all this was my favorite loose end. It took a long time and many hours but it was so worth it and Maggie loves it. She spends more time in her room now than she ever has and while she used to sneak into mom and dad’s bed or Katie’s bed many nights – now she spends every night, all night in her own room!
