This series has actually been tougher than I imagined it would be. I have loose ends… I just want to make sure that I’m using the most interesting.

For the last 7+ months we have dropped our cable television. It’s been tough because you know I’m addicted to Psych, SOA, Bones and Parenthood. We noticed that our cable bill was slowly creeping up even though we had canceled movie channels that had run through their introductory term of “special pricing” and we never used pay-per-view. Coupled with kids spending too much time in front of the television we decided it would add to a healthier lifestyle if we dumped the cable. What we did was add Netflix instant streaming. Without cable if someone wanted to sit down and watch television they had to think about it and find something they wanted to spend their time on.

We spent a great deal of our summer playing Bocce Ball in the backyard and watching movies on the outdoor screen in the backyard. It was great! Until school started and the new season of SOA and Psych were due to start… and, honestly, I *hate* watching shows on my computer.

The weather is cooling off and everyone is wanting to curl up and watch shows together in the evening. I’m not entirely thrilled with our old cable company and I’m considering looking around. I’ve made some calls and one company was going to take 3 weeks before they could get around to installing anything. Epic fail!

So, tell me – who is your cable company? Why do you like them? Any other tips for selecting a cable service?

This is one loose end I need to tie up in a hurry before there is a full-blown revolt. We’ve already missed several episodes of SOA and Parenthood, Psych starts this week and missing that? Might be the end of me!
