Bitching and Complaining
Posted By AmyD. on April 15, 2009
Today I am going to bitch and complain. I’m really good at it, watch!
1. I have HAD IT with those ridiculous ads on websites that all of the sudden become animated and stretch across your screen with their noisy movements. If I only had a dollar for every time an article I was reading got interrupted by some giant stupid ad for allergy meds or some such stupidity.
2. Links that appear to be links to articles on websites but then the GIANT video SCREEN jumps up (OMG, we CAN’T do THAT when we can put it on VIDEO) covers your page and instead of READING the article I am staring at that stupid bar with the blinking “downloading” message. I like my news QUIET, in clear text, if I wanted it any other way I’d be glued to the damn television set. Side note, I do love it when they say it’s a video link or have a little camera icon or something indicating it’s a video link. Although, then I’m disappointed that I can’t read it in ARTICLE version.
Also? I like videos, it’s just when I’m reading the news in the morning with a cup of coffee a VIDEO blaring in my face is just not the way I like to welcome the day.
3. Loud, noisy ADS that start playing the second a page loads with no way to find the ad or shut it off on the page. Nope, there it is, loud, blaring “you could win an xbox” well, fuck you and your xbox!!! I end up having to hit the mute button on my keyboard and then when I want to listen to something I think my speakers are broken because I FORGOT I hit the damn mute button!!!!
(I’m getting wound up here, can you tell?)
4. You might remember my last mini-rant on the Duggars?
I recently came across an article where the oldest Duggar son who got married is now expecting a baby with his wife. What irritated me here is the way this family is so involved with each other’s obsession with procreation.
“I took the pregnancy test, but I couldn’t bear to look at it because I didn’t want to be disappointed,” Anna explains. Joshua managed to keep the positive test a secret and announced it to the whole Duggar family, including Anna, later that night. “I said, ‘You’re going to join the Mommy team,’ ” Joshua says.
What? He WAITED to tell his wife that she was pregnant in front of his FAMILY? What?!?!?! WHAT?!?!?!?!
Maybe the article got this wrong, maybe not. But I can’t imagine taking a pregnancy test having my husband read the results and then waiting to tell me what it said IN FRONT of his family. That is strange. A pregnancy is personal and something they should have been able to announce TOGETHER as a married couple not like some freak bringing his incubator out on display. Did he marry a woman or a uterus? Yuck. Yuck. Yuck.

You ARE good at it!
And I couldn’t agree with you more… about ALL of it!

Thank you!
I concur with you on all points.
Sound/video on websites is not my thing. I never turn my speakers on unless I’m specifically wanting to hear something. I hate clicking on a page and then jumping out of my seat because the sound is so loud.
The Duggars? Yeah, that is just flat-out weird.

Just yesterday I was messing around with Blip.Fm and thought that the music wasn’t playing… nope, I had to turn my speakers down AGAIN and forgot.
Agree, Agree, Agree and yep, the Duggars are definitely a weird bunch.

I have to say, it’s really too bad because the Duggars seem to have good intentions, they seem to be attempting to raise their kids to be polite and have good morals (even if most of their viewpoints are horridly, horridly close-minded) so it’s a shame they have to be so damned strange.
Someone should have spayed that woman 17 children ago. Then we’d only have one procreation obsessed offspring running around instead of a football teams worth.
:rotflmao:
Are you reading my mind again? If so I’m sorry. It’s a scary place up there. I try to avoid it at all costs!
I couldn’t agree more with all your points. I used to watch the Dugger’s show from time to time but had to stop when I couldn’t keep the urge to :barf: at bay any longer.

The Dugger’s have become way too comercialize and are letting the network run their lives.
YUCK
Seriously? In front of the entire family??? That is just sick and wrong. Are they all going to be present in the birthing room as well?
The Duggars scare me, in a bad way. I would be so pissed if Travis did that to me. And why would she not have asked what the test showed? Whatever.
And, I hate those damn pop-up video things, too. Bitch away my dear!!!
