It Was Beautiful…
Posted By AmyD. on February 28, 2009
We’ve all been waiting, on a watch, of the most awful kind. While I’m grateful there is less suffering in the world today, my heart aches for those left behind.
For Dude, Teenie, Cam, and Lisa
Beautiful
I’m looking for a way to feel you hold me
Feel your heartbeat just one more time
Reaching back, trying to touch the moment
Each precious minute that you were mine
How do you prepare
When you love someone this way
To let them go a little more each day?
(Chorus 1:)
The stars we put in place
The dreams we didn’t waste
The sorrows we embraced
The world belonged to you and me
The oceans that we crossed
The innocence we lost
The hurting at the end
I’d go there again
‘Cause it was beautiful
It was beautiful
Some days, missing you is overwhelming
When it hits me you’re not coming back
And in my darkest hours, I have wondered
Was it worth it for the time we had?
My thoughts get kind of scattered
But one thing I know is true
I blessed the day that I found you
(Repeat chorus 1)
(Chorus 2:)
The rules we stepped aside
The fear that we defied
The thrill of the ride
The fire in our hearts that burned
The oceans that we crossed
The innocence we lost
The hurting at the end
I’d go there again
‘Cause it was beautiful
It was beautiful

Well said.
It WAS like a terrible waiting game, wasn’t it?
Tense Teacher’s last blog post..No Meme Today
Yes, it was. No one should ever have to endure that kind of wait.
This song is beautiful…and it suits Lisa. RIP Lisa. Be strong Dude + girls
I’ll never be able to listen to this song without thinking of Lisa.
rest in peace, Lisa.
Amen.
Its a sad day for those left behind, but Lisa is finally free of pain, and able to be her spunky self again
Crazy Lady’s last blog post..No Hearts and candy for me!
For that we can be thankful even with heavy hearts.
Man. I read the news on Clusterfook. Then I wrote my own little note, and a comment on Lisa’s site. I read other folks’ posts. But it wasn’t until I read YOUR comment on Lisa’s site that I actually cried. Give your son a hug from me, give yourself a hug from me. We’re all saddened by her loss, but enriched by the life she lived. xo
She was an incredible person. I wish I could have known her better, but what I did know was a woman with a great wit and amazing grace.
A reminder to be happy for each day.
Chickie’s last blog post..A Baby? Bwahahahahaha!
Absolutely. Make the most of each day and let the people we love know how much we love them.
I was so sorry to hear about Lisa. She was a good person and a great mom. The world will not be the same without her.
Nice post, Amy.

Lisa was one-of-a-kind. I often marvel at how we can come to care so much for people that we hardly even get to meet, the blogging community is so unique in that respect. While I didn’t know Lisa extremely well, I will never forget how supportive she was even battling what she was battling while our family went through it’s own battle with cancer. She was truly a class act.
I never met Lisa and hadn’t followed her blog for very long, but knowing what it’s like when the world loses an amazing soul, I would like to send hugs out to all her friends and family. May the Dude and girls be strong and know that Lisa is no longer hurting, of that we can all be certain.
Great post, Amy. Hugs to you today, too.
