Junie B. and Maggie K. ?

Have you ever read Junie B. Jones?

Okay, forget about this Twilight stuff for a moment (Julie, Kate, forgive me, sweeties!) because it doesn’t matter how old you are, if you have ever had little kids around you and thought they were funny in the least, you have to read Junie B. Jones. Okay, sure they are written like easy-readers for the Kindergarten – 3rd grade set, but I remember reading them to Katie and eagerly tearing through the books to hear the next hysterical thing Junie was going to do or say. Seriously… check them out.

At the very least? You gotta read the letter “written by Junie B” on her website here. I have to tell you that when I read that and then I read emails or blog posts written by Chickie that I am pretty convinced that Junie B. Jones was based on Chickie as a child. Seriously.

And, unfortunately for me, I think Maggie has every intention of following in Junie B’s footsteps:

Maggie, uh with a snake.

Maggie Making a funny face

And then we have two, very short videos of Maggie. These were taken the day of Ethan’s surgery in the waiting room. She was really being well behaved, but she just felt this need to dance. She kind of reminded me of a cross between Steve Martin and “Fiddler on the Roof.”

Sometimes, I think I’m losing it and I watch her for a while. That’s when I realize what it really looks like to have either lost it or never really had it. That’s my Maggie.

She is such a cutie! I do know the Junie books. My daughter and her friends used to love them.
When I was a kid I read so many Amelia Bedelia books.. do you remember those? They made me laugh hysterically.
    Have a great Thanksgiving!

My daughter loved Junie B! I can’t imagine anyone reading those books and not falling in love them! And Maggie…what a sweetie. I love those moments where all it takes is a young child to help relieve the stress in a room. Have a wonderful and happy Thanksgiving :pph:

  3. Chickie says:

Oh man, I loves me some Maggie.

  4. J.O. says:

I think every one should have a Maggie!

  5. Erin says:

I love Junie B! She reminds me of Ramona Quimby, who was my idol when I was kindergarten aged. If Maggie likes Junie B, she might also like Amber Brown (I think the first book in the series is Amber Brown is Not a Crayon) and Captain Underpants! (Forgive me, I used to run the Children’s section of a bookstore, I get carried away with this subject)

    Junie B Rocks!
Maggie cracks me up – she is so full of life. And, hey! Sometimes you just have to dace a jig, even if it happens to be in a surgical waiting room.

My Wife from across the room thought the first video was of Elmo (sesame Street)> you worry about Maggie, I worry about my wife at times.

She was disappointed to see it was just Maggie. I tried to tell her, but she had to see for herself.

    Glad your doing better.
