Preventing Cold and Flu with Homeopathic Remedies
Posted By AmyD. on November 15, 2010
If cold and flu season hasn’t begun it’s just around the corner. This time of year I usually start harping on my husband and kids to keep up with taking vitamin c, drinking green tea, and lots of water.
There is also a great deal of buzz in the homeopathic community about colloidal silver. Colloidal silver isn’t a new thing by any stretch, but as with most homeopathic remedies the big pharmaceutical companies love to put out lots of fear-based propaganda to keep people coming back and spending money on man-made chemicals that more times than not do more harm than good.
Currently, I’ve put my family on olive leaf and grapefruit seed extracts to amp up their immune systems. I’m certainly looking further into the colloidal silver and might keep that on hand if someone ends up getting sick.
I’ve always avoided antibiotics unless they were absolutely necessary and as such my kids have rarely used them. If the antibiotics became necessary at least I know they don’t have any resistance built up.
As always frequently washing your hands is the best defense against catching a cold or the flu, I’m also really big on the water-less hand sanitizers. Bath and Bodyworks sell pocket size bottles that my kids keep in their backpacks and use frequently throughout the day. Additionally, we also use the disinfectant kitchen wipes on all of our door knobs and light switches frequently.
What homeopathic supplements are you using?

I hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving! I am so grateful for your friendship!
